How we worked it out

Updated as you change the numbers.

  1. 5 days × 5.6 weeks = 28 days.
  2. For 12 months: × 12 ÷ 12 = 28 days.

Method and assumptions

GOV.UK: workers are entitled to 5.6 weeks’ paid holiday a year; a five-day week gives 28 days, and part-time workers get 5.6 times their working days (3 days a week gives 16.8 days). Workers who start or leave during the leave year get a share in proportion. Irregular-hours and part-year workers accrue 12.07% of hours worked instead.

Questions
