How we worked it out
Updated as you change the numbers.
- Return after expenses = (1 + 7%) × (1 − 0.75%) − 1.
- A 0% load is taken from each purchase before it is invested.
- Both balances grow monthly at the equivalent monthly rate; the difference is the cost of fees, including the growth they would have earned.
Method and assumptions
The expense ratio is deducted from the fund’s assets continuously, which lowers the return you receive each year. A front-end load is a percentage taken from each purchase. The fee cost shown includes the growth the fees would have earned had they stayed invested.
